Brixington pupils were fortunate enough to be chosen to make and Parade this year's lanterns as the Christmas celebrations were launched in Exmouth.
Years three and four worked at break neck speed to get sixty lanterns ready on Friday, with lots of help from visiting artists. They used masking tape and wood to construct triangles and square based pyramids, and then added tissue paper.
On Sunday, dozens of families made their way to Ocean to collect their lanterns and start the parade, led by five bagpipers and the town crier! In the square, the deputy Lord Mayor (himself a Brixington alumnus) welcomed Brixingtonians to the party and led the countdown to the Christmass tree lights switch on.
Thank you you so much to all the families who attended and made the event so memorable...Merry Christmas!
